All opinions are mine alone. #PamperedPiggies #CollectiveBiasPIggy Paint stocking stufferMy daughter wasn’t even two years old before she started asking for nail polish. With the urgency many kids would request toys or candy, she requested “pretty nails”, but I refused to give in because I was worried about what was in those nail colors she coveted so much. As you can imagine, we were both thrilled when we found Piggy Paint, a company that makes kid-friendly nail polishes that are non-toxic and hypoallergenic for my little fashionista. Piggy Paint paintingPiggy Paint is a water–based nail polish specially formulated for kids that contains no toxic chemicals or yucky stuff. Just like the adult versions, Piggy Paint comes in a rainbow of vibrant colors. It’s free of formaldehyde, toluene, phthalates, Bisphenol A, ethyl acetate and acetone that is in other polishes, which makes it my favorite pick for my daughter.  Piggy Paint collection

But, Piggy Paint isn’t just for kids. Since I’m pregnant I’m also very cautious about what beauty products I use, and that includes nail polishes. Lucky for me, my daughter doesn’t mind sharing because it means we can have matching mother/daughter manis and pedis. In fact, I don’t plan on going back to my adult polishes even after I’m done gestating because I love that we can simply stock one brand for both of us. PIggy Paints up closeSpeaking of stockpiling, throughout the years we have amassed quite the collection of Piggy Paint. We started with the Color Me Happy Piggy Paint set {the same one I'm giving away below!} with 8 different colors and then added quite a few supplemental bottles that we purchased at specialty stores and ordered online. At the rate we go through nail polish, I’m always on the lookout for retailers near me that sell colors we’re running low on. Piggy Paint collection 2This past week I spied them at my local Walmart and I did a happy dance knowing I can now get the Piggy Paint I need right there in the health and beauty section. With box sets, two packs, and even their chemical-free nail polish remover, they have everything a little girl could ask for to create beautiful nails from home. Piggy Paint at Walmart arrowTo celebrate getting some new fun colors of Piggy Paint, we decided to paint our nails this past weekend and I did something my daughter has been begging for nonstop for years – I let her paint my nails for me. This was partly out of necessity since it’s harder and harder to get a good pedicure with this big old pregnant belly, but it was also because I knew it would make her day. Piggy Paint PedicureWe set up a little salon station and I let her paint one side pink and one side blue like she wanted, and I even let her add nail sparkles to the paint while wet so I could have some really fancy-schmancy nails. She didn't do that bad for a 6 year old! Kid Painting with Piggy Paint pedicureTo set the paint and designs we used the hair dryer on low heat for two minutes {or two rounds of the ABCs} to dry the paint and help with chip resistance before we started on her nails.  Drying Piggy PaintI know that it’s only a matter of time until she doesn’t want anything that matches me, so I’m going to enjoy this matching stage while it lasts. For now I will just be happy that salon days at home with Piggy Paint are the way to her heart. Piggy Paint Manicure
And, for those of you who love a nail salon pampering, you will be happy to know that most salons will allow you to bring your own paint in and they are happy to do Piggy Paint for you as part of your pedicure. Piggy Paint fileBut, nail polish isn’t just for nails! You can use Piggy Paint for all sorts of things around the house including helping mark electrical cords and adapters, identifying keys, and even keeping tricky buttons sewn on by getting them with a little bit of polish. It really is magical stuff, and it’s made even more magical without all the yucky stuff that is in other nail polishes. Piggy Paint button fixWant to stuff their stockings with a Piggy Paint stash?
