Summer Fun with Crayola

With so much of our summer spent on-the-go, I’m always looking for ways I can entertain the Crayola Logokids easily, and hopefully infuse some learning opportunities in as well.  Crayola, the same company I rely on for our arts and crafts days here at home, has made it easy to learn and play on the road with their vast assortment of new releases that are perfect for travel.

We got to check out an assortment of Crayola travel-themed products this summer and the kiddos were absolutely thrilled.  Just look at all these awesome products for on the go:
•    Crayola Color Wonder On the Go Tiny Tubes
•    Color Wonder Coloring Pad
•    Color Wonder Barbie Mini Coloring Pad and Markers
•    Color Wonder Drawing Pad and Markers
•    Dry Erase Travel Pack
•    Dry Erase Zany Play
•    Princess and the Frog Mess Free Color Wonder Activity Sets

We’ve already talked about our love of Crayola Color Wonder products, so I was so happy to see they had some great new portable options this summer.  With everything from mini coloring pads to paper rolls for on the go, Color Wonder can now go anywhere.

Crayola Color wonder Barbie
My daughter absolutely adores the Barbie Mini Coloring Pad and Markers and has our fridge covered with mini Barbie pictures she has lovingly colored for every member of our family.  For a 4 year old, I think she's quite the little artist {although the Color Wonder pens do offer a little help, the rest is raw talent}.  This may seem like a little thing, but I was thrilled to see the Barbie set came with a Color Wonder peach Crayola Color Wonder Coloring Pad Barbiecolor because she has been coloring all of our family with bright pink skin up until now, which looks a bit like we’ve had too much sun.

My son, on the other hand, loves the On-the-Go Tiny Tubes so we can take Color Wonder with us everywhere.  It comes with a ten foot piece of rolled Color Wonder paper inside an easy to open tube holding Color Wonder pens.  Because the page keeps on going, it’s great for when the kids want to color but you are somewhere you don’t want tiny “masterpieces” getting lost.  And, because 3 pens store right inside the tube, it’s easy to pack and play wherever you go!

Crayola craftsBut, as much as we loved the new Color Wonder sets, for home and away, our new favorite Crayola product is the Dry Erase Travel Pack with Crayola Dry Erase Crayons that is perfect for on the go.  The kids like that it’s a stand-alone pack with a stiff writing insert that they can draw on even if they don’t have a table handy.  I like it because it’s easy to grab and take with us because it has everything they need to get creative.

And, because it’s erasable, they can play with it over and over again without needing an unlimited supply of paper.  But, even cooler is that you can put your own pictures right into the travel pack clear pocket so you can draw right over your photograph without ruining it.  Perfect for little ones learning to draw their favorite character or for “enhancing” family photos, I love that this adds a new dimension to their coloring.

The kiddos are completely thrilled with all their new Crayola gear for home and away, and I'm happy that they are both having a great time getting creative together without all the mess!  With how much fun we've had with all the new products we know they will definitely be making it into our suitcases for our next vacation.

Coloring with Color Wonder
Just look at my little man coloring with both hands… without even looking.  Needless to say, this was a frame-worthy masterpiece.  But hey, at least it wasn't on the couch, right?

  1. My favorite product is seriously just the basic crayons! While Crayola makes some seriously cool products (Color Wonder is awesome!! Wow these look so cool), there is just something special about a fresh box of Crayola crayons. 🙂

  2. How can you pick just one thing to love from Crayola, but there is nothing like opening up a new box of Crayola crayons.

  3. I love all of their products but what i really loved was the drop down Ideas In An Instant…. I am going to bookmark this page

  4. By far our top favorite is the traditional Crayola Crayons. But my son really loves the Color Wonder stuff as well. bekki1820cb at gmail dot com
