JumpSport iBounce Kids Trampoline

Around here, we are very ready for spring.  Unfortunately, winter decided to come back after we were sure it had left for good and we’ve been left with cold temperatures and grey skies.   IBounce-at-play-imageLuckily, we have a new way to burn off energy while we’re cooped up at home with the JumpSport iBounce Kids Trampoline.

An indoor trampoline has been on my wishlist ever since my daughter was young and in the thick of her medical problems that left her half of the size of her peers.  While she was catching up in terms of height, she was having problems with her dexterity on the playground.  Whereas other kids her age were bouncing along and literally running circles around her, she was struggling to climb and jump without assistance.

It was during that time that we started taking her to a weekly jump class and saw so much improvement that the doctors were literally shocked.  We continue to work with her to this day and have made such great strides in her coordination that her developmental delay is almost imperceptible to those who don’t know her, which is something we only dreamed of all those months ago.   But, the problem is that classes are expensive, hard to get to on the weeknights, and are only once a week.

JumpSportOn the other nights of the week, we try and get to a park or somewhere else the kids can bounce without fear of getting in trouble, but rain often makes that tough. Since spring in Seattle is especially wet and dreary, I was really dreading the rain this year and the thought of my daughter falling behind her peers yet again.   Thank goodness we can now bring the playground fun right into our living room with the JumpSport iBounce Kids Trampoline.

Because the iBounce has two rubber covered bars to hang onto while jumping, and a padded cover over the bungees on the edges of the jumping surface, it is perfect even for children as young as two years old, up to 80 pounds.  While my son is a bit young for it and my daughter is a still a new jumper, I have found that with close supervision it is perfect for the two of them who are just getting the hang of bouncing and need some support while jumping.  It’s the safety of those handles, the bungees {no metal springs!} and padding that sold me on the design, and I am really impressed with what a great design it really is.

Putting together the iBounce Trampoline
Putting it together was easy {and would have been over quickly had it not been for two little “helpers” who couldn’t wait to bounce} and once it was done, we literally had to drag them from it crying in order to get them to bed that night.  The next morning, they both came down and ran to the iBounce for their turn to jump and it’s been like that ever since.

Putting together the JumpSport Trampoline
The iBounce Kids Trampoline from JumpSport is basically a fun beacon in our living room and is now the main source of exercise with our dismal weather report that shows 10 different ways to say “it’s going to rain”.  And, I can think of no better way to spend a rainy afternoon than watching the kids giggle together as they take turns jumping and playing on the iBounce.  I love that they are no longer sitting with their noses pressed against the window claiming the rain has stopped and no longer using my sofa as a bouncy room, but most importantly, I love that they are having fun together.

IMG_4888And, as if the trampoline itself wasn’t fun enough, the iBounce Trampoline comes with a 12-minute Hop-A-Long with RompyRoo – Where Is Mr. Fuzzy? DVD as well.  The DVD gets kids hopping along with RompyRoo and learning basic moves on the trampoline, counting exercises, balance exercises and more, which makes it even more fun and interactive for the older kids.  As an added bonus, the DVD can be downloaded to an iPad or tablet so they can play even without a TV or DVD player in front of them.   And, because holding a tablet and jumping would be awkward {and, likely expensive}, JumpSport even added an integrated tablet mount right on the trampoline handle bars, something I absolutely love.

Now we can simply attach our tablet right to the bars, turn on the program and watch while our daughter bounces, balances, counts, and hops along with RompyRoo.   It’s fun to see her really interacting with the video and talking to RompyRoo as they go, but it’s especially fun for me because she’s practicing so many crucial skills without it feeling a bit like work.

As much as it’s just a great way to burn off energy in a completely fun way, the iBounce is something more important to us – it’s a way to encourage both kids to use their newfound ability to jump, balance and bounce.   If it’s exciting to see how a weekly class can take a kid who can’t physically jump and allow her to get even a little bit of air, just think of what kind of improvements we will be seeing IMG_4910now that we have a daily dose of jumping… or, maybe that should read “hourly”, because the iBounce Trampoline is always returned to over and over throughout the day by both children and I don’t see that stopping anytime soon.

JumpSport is known for its safe and quality trampolines for 15 years and now has an extensive line to fit any family or activity.  Whether you are looking for indoor, outdoor, fitness, or fun, JumpSport really does have it all and can get the whole family exercising.   The iBounce retails for $129.95, and includes free shipping direct from JumpSport.

Check out our video to see how much my daughter loves the iBounce.  Hint: it involves a song

This may sound strange but I love that it has such a small area for the kids to bounce on. Our neighbor has a regular exercise trampoline that she lets the kids jump on and two or three of them want to get on at the same time, which leads to somebody getting hurt! I don't think you'd have to worry about that with this trampoline.

Leanne Signature 2A big thank you to JumpSport for sending their kids trampoline for review.  All opinions are 100% ours and no form of monetary compensation was received in exchange for this Rave Review.

  12. The durability feature is best–an active 3 yr old needs something that won’t fall apart right away.

  13. I like that its a developmental tool for children and also its nice that it can tire the little ones out lol

  14. I love that it’s easy to assemble because I’m not very mechanically inclined.
