CARS 3 comes racing home on DVD and Blu-ray

6a0105362badb1970b01b7c90b3be4970b-800wiFor 6+ years, we’ve been mega fans of the Disney•Pixar’s CARS franchise. Our love started when my son became obsessed with all things that go and especially connected with CARS because of the fact that the films gave backstories and personalities to humanize cars, trucks, and other vehicles. 6a0105362badb1970b01b7c901f952970b-800wiAfter all of these years, we have amassed a huge collection of CARS diecast cars, watched the movies dozens of times, and used the film and its characters to help navigate many situations as the kids have grown. We, of course, were thrilled when the CARS 3 movie was announced, couldn’t wait to see it in theaters, and have kept a countdown to November 7th when it would finally be available to watch at home. 6a0105362badb1970b01b8d28c2316970c-800wiAnd, I’m excited to announce that Disney•Pixar’s CARS 3 is finally available today on Blu-ray and DVD! We’re so excited to welcome it home with the rest of the CARS collection, as it’s already a beloved movie in our family… and that was even before this week when we’d only seen it once in theaters.

Just like the other two CARS films, this new film focuses a lot on friendships, and it is also set against a backdrop of face-paced races and action. But, I found I could relate to this new movie in a way that I didn’t with the first two. This new movie faces the reality of what happens when you aren’t the new kid on the block anymore, and you find yourself competing with a new generation of blazing fast racers equipped with the latest and greatest technology. 6a0105362badb1970b01b7c901f947970b-800wiThe legendary Lightning McQueen {voice of Owen Wilson} finds himself in this position and is struggling with what he can do to get ahead – literally and figuratively. Reluctantly, he agrees to work with a spirited trainer named Cruz Ramirez {voice of Cristela Alonzo}, but that doesn’t go as planned, either. Together they go on a journey to discover where he belongs in this new type of high-octane competition.

Come along with them on their journey and see where there adventures take them. You’ll find yourself laughing along at their antics and getting invested in the fate of our beloved Lightning McQueen.

#95 by the #s in CARS 3

  • 5 – As “Cars 3” gets underway, world-champion racer Lightning McQueen is riding high with five Piston-Cup wins under his hood.
  • 11 – Lightning McQueen raced into moviegoers’ hearts 11 years ago—making his rookie debut in “Cars” in March 2006—and remains an iconic character today.
  • 24 – The dramatic, slow-motion crash scene in which Lightning McQueen hits a wall and rolls several times takes 24 seconds.
  • 95 – Lightning McQueen still sports the dynamic #95 with his signature lightning-bolt graphics. He displays five distinct looks in “Cars 3,” including one that pays homage to his original paint, a primer look he gets following the devastating crash, a custom wrap ordered by Sterling, and more.
  • 198 – Lightning McQueen tops out at a speed of 198 miles per hour on his last lap with Cruz Ramirez on Fireball Beach. But Lightning’s nemesis—next-gen racer Jackson Storm—races at speeds pushing 207 mph.

  1. My nephew has talked about “Cars 3” non-stop. He has been dropping hints that he has been good all year and he shouldn’t have to wait for Santa to give it to him. His next question to me was “When are you going shopping again?” – “Can I go with you?” So cute.
