The LEGO Batman Movie hits theaters today!

Sponsored postThe newest LEGO movie is out today, and kids everywhere are busy trying to talk their parents into taking them to see the LEGO Batman Movie. So, I’m Image001betting you’re wondering if you should take your children to see it in theater or just wait for it on DVD? The short answer is yes, you definitely should schedule a theater date.

When the first LEGO Movie came out, we were all big fans. In fact, we’ve spent way more time singing “Everything is awesome” than I’d like to admit, as well as having added “Kragle” to our regular vocabulary. The LEGO Movie was one of the few movies that parents, grandparents, and kids could all agree on, and as a result it quickly became a must-own DVD when it was released.

In addition to introducing us to exciting new characters and taking us deep into the world of LEGO, another standout part of the first movie was the inclusion of the beloved LEGO Batman. So, as soon as we heard a LEGO Batman Movie was in the works, we were all very excited to see it as soon as possible. IMG_2037

The LEGO Batman Movie brings us into Batman’s world of fighting crime with a full cast of villains, led by the Joker on his quest to take control of Gotham City. We see Batman as both the hero of the city, and the lone wolf who is too afraid to open up to anyone around him. With a town full of villains, a new police commissioner, and an orphan son he accidentally adopted, Batman is forced to examine his way of life.

Will Arnett reprises his starring role from the LEGO Movie as the voice of LEGO Batman, aka Bruce Wayne and the rest of the cast and characters reads like a who’s who of comedy. With Zach Galifianakis as The Joker, Michael Cera as the orphan Dick Grayson, Rosario Dawson as Barbara Gordon, and Ralph Fiennes as Alfred…and about 50 other well-known actors, comedians, and superstars, the cast is literally jam packed with voices that you will recognize and love. IMG_2036The Seattle screening turned out to be on a perfect night for a guys’ night out for my little dude and me. With plenty of humor for both adults and kids, we were both laughing throughout the movie. In fact, he enjoyed it so much that the next day I received not one, but two thank you notes for taking him.

We loved it so much that we can’t wait to go again with the rest of the family. Much like the first LEGO Movie, there are lots of details and layers of jokes and visuals to explore in the movie, which makes it enjoyable for all ages as you find yourself chuckling throughout the film. But, beyond the humor and story of the movie, another thing I also really love is seeing how they make the modular bricks work throughout the film and seeing all the buildings and vehicles built up in LEGOS come to life.

Whether you go during opening weekend or you wait a bit and hit a matinee in a few weeks, seeing The LEGO Batman Movie is definitely worth it. Besides, you might get TWO thank you notes after taking your kids to see a movie that is actually really funny and a great time for everyone.
