Seattle date night: Sherlock Holmes and The American Problem now through May 22nd

Sponsored post Header_SHTonight we used one of our rare nights out to see a production at The Seattle Repertory Theatre that I’ve been looking forward to for months. Admittedly, we don’t make it to the theatre as often as we used to now that we have young kiddos, but I knew this one was one we couldn’t miss. Seattle date nightI mean, c’mon, it is Victorian England meets the American Wild West in R. Hamilton Wright's highly anticipated Sherlock Holmes and The American Problem. How could you go wrong with that?

This new production is from the creative team behind Seattle Repertory Theatre's 2013 smash hit production The Hound of the Baskervilles. The year is 1887 the occasion is the Queen Victoria’s Jubilee, a celebration marking her 50th year on the throne. In the production, visitors from around the world are descending on Great Britain to participate in the festivities. Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show with American superstar Annie Oakley is entertaining the crowds, all while the criminal underworld is attacking the city. Sherlock Holmes programHolmes must uncover and foil a dangerous criminal mastermind plot, all while avoiding the tourists that he despises. By stringing together coincidences, Holmes and Watson embark on a late-night adventure with danger, intrigue, and lots of laughs.

We both loved the production and were thoroughly entertained from the moment the curtains opened. The amazing set was mesmerizing at times as it shifted and changed to become anything from apartments, stores, train stations, docks, and even dark of the London Underground. With an integration of projected images along with a flawless moving set, it made for some really awesome action shots and really added to the fun of the production. FY16_SH_6Basically, if you love the theater, you should buy a ticket. If you have a soft spot for Sherlock Holmes, Victorian England, Buffalo Bill, or Annie Oakley, you should definitely buy a ticket. And, if you want the perfect date night that will keep you entertained and laughing the whole way through, you need to buy two tickets.
