Goodbye 2015, it’s been a great year

Sponsored postBy Tyler, editor and reviewer

2015 was a great year all around. Not just for the fact that I finally made that fireplace mantle I'd promised my wife years ago, or our amazing trips together up and down the West Coast as well as our big trip to the Caribbean and then over to Georgia. No, what made this year truly amazing was that we not only added our third {and likely final member} to our little family, and we also made huge strides towards getting healthy, together. FDSC00893
As you get older you really start to feel your age more. As I've become much more aware of the fact that I'm no longer in my twenties, I've found myself needing to pay a little more attention to personal upkeep. This is where
Jenny Craig came in.

You may remember that my wife and I did the Jenny Craig program together in late summer/early fall. But, what you may not know is that after finishing our review period with Jenny Craig, we decided to stick with it a little longer since we were both having such great success in the program.

This extra time gave us the opportunity to transition smoother back into making our own meals, making healthy choices while eating out, and it gave us more time with our awesome consultants to really fine tune our progress and find out what works best for us.

I can happily say that using everything we learned we've now completely stopped eating any of the Jenny Craig foods, and we are still dropping weight. Want proof? This is me in May of this year at my heaviest weight I've ever been, and then a picture from this morning now that I'm down to the weight I was in my twenties. I'm seriously shocked at the difference.  Before and After Collage Ty
Needless to say, this is a pretty big change, and I'm grateful that this "before" pic is in the past. These results are not typical. Members following the Jenny Craig program, on average, lose 1-2 lbs. per week. I received promotional consideration.

As great as being in the full Jenny Craig program was and not having to worry about anything other than picking my favorite foods off a menu, the best part has been working with them to transition off the program and continue losing weight on our own and knowing  that we've made real life changes in how we eat that will stay with us well after we reach our goals so the pounds don't come creeping back on.

Jenny Craig made it so easy to learn what works for us without wondering what variables we needed to calculate. After doing the program for 14 weeks and seeing the food sizes we were eating, it made it so simple to picture proper portions everywhere we go so that we aren't overeating on our own. I think it was always the fear of getting back into a normal routine after some crazy diet that made me skeptical of dieting in general, but Jenny Craig didn't have any strange gimmicks or fad elements to it, and transitioning out of it has been a breeze.

I've now reached my initial goal weight and am down 40 pounds total, but I think I'm going to try for 5 more. It's so amazing being back to where I'm happy to step on to the scale, as well as being able to go down a few sizes and back into my favorite clothing. Not to mention that I have much better energy, and just feel better in general. After dancing picPeople ask me all the time about how Jenny Craig worked for me, and I'm happy to tell them how much I really loved the program. I couldn't be any happier with my experience with my consultants, with the Jenny Craig foods, and now transitioning off the program and I recommend it to others in a similar situation who are tired of seeing the pounds tack on each year.
