For the past three years my family has stayed pretty healthy. We were what my family’s Pediatrician calls “low-risk for illness” since we don’t send the kids to daycare or spend any time in public ball pits. For years I would watch the posts on Facebook where my friends would lament that the whole family had come down with some horrible cough and cold and feel grateful that we were such low risk.
Or, at least we were. This past fall, my daughter started Pre-School and ended our winning streak against illness as soon as we signed her enrollment paperwork. Literally, the first week of school sparked an outbreak in the students and since that time it’s been one illness or another every other week.
