I’m usually not at a loss for words, but when I was asked to personalize my son’s special keepsake blanket, I drew a blank as to how to fill all four sides. Once I placed my Fill In The Blankie order it was mere days and it arrived in my mailbox, wrapped in a beautiful fabric bag with a message tag and all ready for gifting. It was so soft and snuggly that I don’t think we had it all the way home before my little one had claimed it and was happily snuggling it in the cold. Once I got the blanket away from him and had a chance to take a good look at it, I could see why he loved it so. I also loved the soft satin-trimmed blanket and how snuggly soft it is even with the embroidery. I really love the font and colors we chose and
that they work just perfectly in his bed or when we’re out and about in the stroller.
We’ve all taken to the blanket just as I thought we would and it’s now the blanket we use for snuggle time and when we’re reading together. The one thing I was surprised about is that the embroidery is visible on both sides of the blanket: one printed backwards and the other printed correctly. It’s actually pretty cool and adds visual interest on the other side of the blanket as well, which I love. Plus, the wrong side out image doesn’t look like the backs of my sewing projects with my hanging threads and numerous “re-dos”; the backside looks nearly identical to the top side’s print, only backwards.
